FEEDING & NUTRITION INFORMATION
From the time the litter is born, we give both NutraCal and Fastrack Canine Gel to each puppy for the first couple of weeks. When they are started on the baby rice cereal mixed with the goats milk at appx. 3-3 1/2 weeks and then unto the stage of softened kibble, etc. we use the Fastrack Microbial Powder sprinkled on their food daily along with Dyne which is a high calorie, nutritional supplement.
We have free choice kibble available when we begin to feel their baby teeth under the gums, as this helps with the teeth breaking through. At approximately 5 weeks of age, we will begin introducing organic meat to their kibble and at 6 weeks we start adding the ingredients of the Basic Food mix as well as the Nuvet Plus Vitamins. It is important to add new foods slowly as to not cause any stomach upset.
We raise our own beef, coupled with the deer and elk that we are able to bring in at hunting season, we are able to feed them pure, organic meat with no hormones or vaccinations.
Puppies are born with bacteria free digestive tracts. Despite proper sanitation, the intestines are quickly populated with both desirable and disease causing bacteria. We use Fastrack Canine Gel as it provides added support during challenging conditions periodically through their development. Examples would include worming, vaccinations, changes that take them out of their usual environment, a trip to the vet and prior to leaving our home whether they are being shipped by air or they are being picked up at the ranch. When changes are made and they are exposed to various environments, it is especially essential that they have their nutrient absorption enhanced. I do recommend that you have a tube or two on hand for traveling, vet visits, future vaccinations and worming, etc.
The Fastrack Canine Microbial Powder comes in a powder form that is sprinkled daily on their food to maintain a healthy digestive tract. It comes in a canister that is very easy to use and is used from the time they are few weeks of age on up to seniors when it can become essential to their health. They also sell it in a 5# pail for those who have more than one dog in the home.
We have been incredibly impressed with the canine Fastrack Probiotic Supplements and the successes we have had with our own dogs personally, as well as others that have had issues of some sort with their dogs and have been able to turn them around very quickly with this high quality probiotic.
